2021 Pinot Noir Anderson Valley

Wine Notes Print tech sheet

Picturesque Anderson Valley continues to expand its reputation as a leader in New World Pinot Noir. Until recently, routine spring frost and fall rains created a misconception that this rugged outpost could not produce world-class wine. Persistence ultimately prevailed, and now Anderson Valley boasts numerous preeminent Pinot Noir vineyards. This bottling illustrates the superb structure and ripeness that have made this wine a favorite at Pangloss. It has the perfect amount of earthiness that reminds us of Burgundy but it is unmistakably a California wine, with vibrant aromas and gorgeous fruit.

Suggestions

  • Gruyère, Camembert, Gouda
  • Beef Bourguignon, lamb chop, prosciutto
  • Mushroom galette, duck fat french fries
  • Caramelized Brussels sprouts, beet salad

What our team is saying:

"I really love pairing this Pinot Noir with any kind of earthy food. To complement the bold complexity of this vintage of Anderson Valley, I find myself constantly coming back to lamb dishes. Pro tip: Don’t be shy with the garlic and rosemary!"
