2018 Merlot Moon Mountain District
Wine Notes Print tech sheet
Power, depth and structure are the hallmarks of mountain-grown wines. As the vines labor for footing in the rocky volcanic soil, the berries they produce are intensely concentrated. Our mountain Merlot bears every characteristic of its hillside origins – bold, rich fruit and a decadent flavor profile that is fully illuminated within a framework of fine-grained tannins. Merlot and Cabernet Franc are a time-tested combination in the legendary vineyards lining Bordeaux’s Right Bank, and in this bottling Cabernet Franc lends its signature aromatic complexity. The unique geography of Sonoma’s Moon Mountain District is naturally suited to creating wines of both intensity and elegance, and in this vintage conditions were optimal for this block selection of Merlot to become explosive.

What Our Team Is Saying:
"The Moon Mountain District is truly geared towards producing bold wines perfect for any steak dinner. The beautiful dark cherry profile, matched with the elegant clove spice on the finish, is enough to win over even the most die-hard Paul Giamatti fan."
