2022 Malbec Moon Mountain District

Pangloss Malbec, Moon Mountain District

Wine Notes Print tech sheet

Our bold Malbec from the Moon Mountain District offers a compelling departure from conventional full-bodied reds like Cabernet Sauvignon. While Malbec is typically cultivated in this region as a blending component, as a single-varietal bottling it reveals an impressive powerful character brimming with concentrated, ripe dark fruit. With limited Malbec acreage in Sonoma County, our expression stands out in a category that remains largely uncharted in California.

Suggestions

  • Aged Manchego, Gruyère, Smoked Gouda
  • Grilled skirt steak, Braised short ribs, Herb-crusted rack of lamb
  • Roasted garlic mashed potatoes, Grilled portobello mushrooms
  • Grilled eggplant with red pepper romesco, Stuffed bell peppers

What Our Team Is Saying

"Fire up the grill for some skirt steak! This wine pairs beautifully with charred, marinated flank or skirt steak, especially when served with chimichurri. Your backyard's about to become the hottest steakhouse in town!"

- Jessica, Director of Sales & Marketing
