2023 Pinot Noir Charles Vineyard

Wine Notes Print tech sheet

The 2023 vintage will be remembered as one of the great ones, and the Charles Vineyard delivers on that promise in spectacular fashion. Bill and Nancy Charles have spent more than two decades coaxing something truly special from their 15-acre ranch outside Boonville, and this wine is the fullest expression of everything their land has to offer. Harvested from two blocks planted to the Pommard clone, the 2023 is a study in balance — vivid red fruit and a silky, generous mid-palate that give way to the earthy, savory depth that is the unmistakable signature of Anderson Valley. The cool coastal air of the Navarro River corridor has done its finest work here, yielding a wine of remarkable harmony and grace that honors both the land it comes from and the Burgundian tradition that inspires it.
